With Christmas just around the corner, we've got the perfect healthy snack idea that's sure to get the kids in a festive mood. Easy to make, why not try out these veggie and cheese Christmas trees this holiday season!

Ingredients

  • 1 cucumber
  • 1 carrot
  • Block cheese, sliced into 1/2cm slices

Method

Step 1. Peel the carrot and slice into 2cm rounds.

Step 2. Wash the cucumber and use a vegetable peeler to cut long strips lengthwise.

Step 3. Use a knife or small star cookie cutter to cut the cheese slices into small star shapes.

Step 4. Carefully fold one strip of cucumber back and forth to create the body of the tree. Start with smaller folds before making each fold larger than the last.

Step 5. Push a toothpick through the centre of the folded cucumber and adjust to make the graduated tree shape.

Step 6. Push the toothpick into the carrot round to form the base.

Step 7. Push the cheese star onto the top of the toothpick.

Step 8. Repeat to make your own little forest of Christmas trees!
